In my opinion, this image can be viewed as expressing gratitude as a tribute to the forces of Nature that have given us life. The human figure, immersed in water – a vital source and a fundamental element of life itself – gazes towards the newly risen sun, which is another essential element for existence. The figure’s body language conveys more than mere gratitude; it suggests almost an adoration. Whether it was his intention or not, with this image, Brian reminds us of our collective debt, as human beings, to Nature, without which we would not exist.
